Smitty's Kennels is a dog boarding kennel providing dog boarding, cat boarding and pet boarding on Long Island in New York, in Middle Island, Suffolk County, really eastern Suffolk County, N.Y. We are in Brookhaven Town.
Smitty's boards dogs, boards cats, has boarding for birds, boarding for horses, boarding for rabbits, boarding forhamsters, boarding for guinea pigs,boarding for pot
bellied pigs, boarding for Vietnamese pot bellied pigs, boarding for lizards, we also board puppies, we also board kittens, and
we also board any exotic pet except primates. Our dog boarding kennel is on a secluded dead
end on a 5,500 acre state park. This gives pet guests in our kennels the quiet and
seclusion of the country boarding kennel setting. Our expert staff keeps your boarding dogs, boarding cats, boarding pets
safe and secure.
Our modern state of the art facility in Suffolk County, NY, kennels your dog, Kennels your cat, and kennels any pet in clean, healthy, safe modern equipped facility. We use a pressure washer in our boarding kennel to clean our indoor kennels and outdoor kennels. This allows better cleaning of the kennels with less chemicals. The kennels and all areas where your dog, cat, pet is in contact with is 100% highly sanitizeable. Every surface of our dob boarding facility is either porcelain tile, quarry tile, stainless steel, high polymer plastic, galvanized steel or cement. There is NO WOOD, NO LINOLEUM, NO ASBESTOS TILE (which are all subject to absorbing germs and rotting, ANYWHERE in the kennel or boarding facility.
The owners, Smitty & Sandy, both live at the Long Island Kennel: WE DON'T GO HOME AT NIGHT and leave the kennel without owner supervision! The kennel and dogs, all the animals, ARE our life. We have both been involved in animal care and training our whole lives and have had no other business/job ever that didn't involve service with animals.
The most important feature of our state of the art boarding kennel is our radiant heat kennel system. The radiant heat is in our porcelain tile floor, which makes our boarding kennel the best state of the art system available. Dogs lie on the floor and the radiant heat kennel floor stays WARM & DRY! We treat your dog or cat just as we treat out own. We keep our kennel toasty warm all winter.
Dog watching and pet sitting services don't give your dog the around the clock, 24 hour supervision that a dog boarding kennel does. We are pet care, dog boarding committed, to the extent that we have most of our life savings invested in the kennel facility: The dog boarding kennel IS our life!
Nassau County has such high property taxes, and such restrictive zoning that the kennels there are much smaller than in Suffolk County. In Suffolk we have much more room for each dog kennel boarding area, and can give the dogs, cats, pets much more room each. Many people travel here for our kennel boarding from Nassau, Queens, Brooklyn, Manhattan, and even New Jersey! It's worth the drive from Nassau County and NYC to give your dog, cat, or pet the extra luxury and roominess of our larger kennel boarding facility. Our kennel is on 2 1/2 acres fully fenced with 6 foot chain link. All area where your dog is walked are double and triple fence for your dog's security in our dog boarding kennel.
We are now finishing renovation on one of our kennel buildings, making it into one of the highest quality, roomiest kennels around. The new kennel has 13 foot INDOOR areas, almost 4 feet wide, and 15 foot outdoor areas. The indoor kennel run has porcelain tile kennel floor with radiant heat, each dog kennel run has either it's own skylight or window!
